The Lockit is designed to offer signals using double frame rate and progressive standards time code signals for updated applications.Ī compact size and the ability to operate on AA batteries makes this device useful in location and portable operations. Tri-level Sync works with component video allowing for reference in component and HD applications. The Lockit can be jam synced with external timecode or set with Aaton “Origen C” ASCII code. The output cable is a 5-pin Lemo connector to BNC 90 and is 15.75' (40 cm) long. This is a tool for syncing audio recorders on-the-go. Each machine is jamsynced and Genlocked, (if possibl,) to its own Lockit which is synced to a common source before the machines start. TC input and output follow the industry standard and allow two cameras in parallel with time code to supply or jam by cable, while the Lockit is connected to. The Ambient Recording LTC-OUT Lockit Time Code Out to BNC / L5P-BNC is an output cable for the Lockit ACL 204 TC-Generator / Trilevel-Sync and ACN-TL Tiny Lockit.
The Lockit can be used in any recording situation where the accuracy of the TC generators in the different machines is not known and where a cable connection is not possible. Typically, the drift will be less than one half frame a day, giving problem free editing and syncing in Post Production. Audio and video machines such as DAT, harddisc and DVD recorders and HD and Digibeta cameras can be synchronised to the Lockit box, thus giving very low drift between machines, thus allowing multicamera shoots to be carried out without cables or timecode radio links. The Ambient Lockit ACL 202CT is a highly accurate portable timecode and video sync generator.
